Bud Rice organized this trip to the San Juans. We camped at Lakedale resort which is about 5 miles away from the town of Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. There were several sag vehicles which transported riders' stuff from Anacortes to the camp, while the riders rode onto the ferry. Bud set up canopies and a cooking/kitchen table for participants to cook their own meals.
Then there were 3 days of riding around different islands: 1. San Juan Island. 2. Lopez and 3. Orcas. Riders can walk onto the ferries between the islands for free! All they had to do was pedal up and down hills (mostly up) and make it back to the returning ferry at the end of the day. A good time was had by all and folks are lobbying for a return visit.
